TASTE OF THE WOODS
(Weekend overnight visits on an individual basis)
High school age young women are invited to a weekend
at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods that includes an evening of fireside story-telling with the sisters, tour of the motherhouse grounds and information about our foundress, Saint Mother Theodore Guerin. You’ll also visit White Violet Center for Eco-Justice and Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College. Housing and meals will be provided.

VOLUNTEER RESIDENTIAL BENEDICTINE ASSOCIATE PROGRAM
The Benedictine Sisters of Duluth, MN invite women interested in joining us in permanent vowed membership to come for a visit and/or to attend one of our weekend Discernment retreats. Come See and Serve with the Sisters of Charity Federation in New Orleans. Single Catholic women ages 18-45 who are considering God's call to active religious life are invited to spend the weekend with Sisters of Charity, ministering to those affected by Hurricane Katrina. Reflecting on the experience of service to the poor in the tradition of St. Vincent de Paul, Louise de Marillac and Elizabeth Ann Seton, there will be opportunities for prayer and sharing with others on the discernment journey. NUN RUN IN EVANSVILLE

What is a “Nun Run?” A Nun Run is a 24+ hour experience during which single women ages 18-40 are invited to visit the convents of 4 different religious communities. You will have the opportunity to pray with us, eat with us, share stories and laugh with us. So fasten your seatbelts and plan to join us for a whirlwind weekend that will give young women an inside look into Religious Life! Transportation provided. No fee for the weekend. Nun Run is scheduled for September 10-11, 2010. The event will begin at 6 p.m. central time on Friday the 10th and conclude at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday the 11th.

Falsani will discuss the spiritual nourishment she has received from her involvement with a shared message board on Facebook, which is the focus of her latest book, The Thread: Rediscovering Faith and Friendship on Facebook. Dominican University’s Siena Center will present the annual Caritas et Veritas lecture with Timothy Radcliffe, OP, former Master of the Dominican Order. In this lecture, which will close Dominican University’s Caritas et Veritas Symposium, Radcliffe will address the relationship of love and truth, and their meaning for the 21st century. From 1992 to 2001, Radcliffe was the master of the Order of Preachers, directing the entire Dominican Order throughout the world. He currently lives at Blackfriars Hall in Oxford, UK and is a well-known author of several books on spirituality, including What is the Point of Being a Christian? (2005) and Why Go To Church? The Drama of the Eucharist (2008).
